St. Jude College Offers Biomedical Technician Course

 

In response to the need of the healthcare industry in effectively and safely managing the operation, repair, and maintenance of medical equipment, St. Jude College is offering the first and only Biomedical Technician Course accredited by TESDA and recognized as a ladderized program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

 

The primary course objective is to equip the students with the required competencies that will prepare them for employment in the specialized field of biomedical electronics in a hospital, clinic, or in the medical electronics industry.

 

The course curriculum provides special lectures and laboratories on equipment documentation, repair, and preventive maintenance of medical electronic equipment following international standards. Based on training regulations approved by TESDA, the subjects taught include the fundamentals of physics, chemistry, physiology, medical terminology, hospital ethics, and hospital safety.

 

The 3-year course which will be offered by St. Jude College this coming schoolyear is in partnership with the University of Rizal Systems and MEDEQUIP, based on Republic Act No. 7686 known as the Dual Training System Act.
