| Thaddean Medical Mission: “Operation Tule” |
|
It was indeed one of the most memorable days for some 163 young boys ages 11 – 15 years old of Purok Umboy, Barangay Tinajeros, Malabon City, the institution’s newly adopted community when the Social Orientation Community Involvement (SOCI) Unit Coordinators Ms. Perla P. Simbulan and Mr. Paul O. Macaraeg together with the Barangay Chairman Mario Rances, spearheaded the Thaddean Medical Mission: “Operation Tule” last April 18, 2009.
The said event was one of the lined-up community projects of St. Jude College. Its primary objective is to extend the institution’s core value of SERVICE to the less privileged members of our adopted community.
The activity was participated in by the School of Nursing and Midwifery faculty and its volunteer students under the leadership of Dean Janet C. Calupitan.
SERVICE as its objective was attained and the activity was a success. Residents of the said community were grateful to St. Jude College for catering and attending to its needs.
In gratitude for the free service rendered by St. Jude College, Brgy. Tinajeros officialdom, thru its Chairman Mr. Mario Rances, showed their warm acceptance and accommodation.
A week after the said medical mission, the SOCI Unit team revisited the community for post-evaluation as planned. |
